Pakistan beat the West Indies by eight wickets at Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain to level the two-match series 1-1, completing their first away Test victory in three years.
Set 75 to win, Pakistan reached the target for the loss of two wickets on the fourth morning after the West Indies second innings folded for 117 inside half an hour of play.

The West Indies won the toss and made 344, with Justin Greaves top-scoring on 73 and captain Roston Chase making 70. Pakistan replied with 387 for a lead of 43.
Abdullah Shafique carried the innings with an unbeaten 160, supported by Babar Azam on 88. Jomel Warrican took six for 112.
Resuming the fourth day at 103 for six, the hosts lost their remaining wickets for 14 runs. Sajid Khan and Ali Usman took four apiece. Opener Brandon King did not bat because of a back injury.

Babar said his side had prepared for three months at a red-ball camp in Lahore and picked an additional spinner after seeing a surface he described as resembling conditions at home. That call meant leaving out senior players.
Shafique was not in the original touring party. He was flown in the previous week as a replacement for the injured Shan Masood.
How does it compare?
The result repeats the pattern of Pakistan’s last Caribbean tour in 2021, when they also lost the first Test and won the second to draw the series. Their most recent meeting, two Tests in Multan in January 2025, also ended 1-1.
The West Indies have not won a Test series against Pakistan since 2000. Babar sealed the chase with consecutive sixes off Warrican.
Where does it leave both sides?
The West Indies came into the second Test favoured to complete a sweep, having won the opener by 90 runs, and the pitch was widely read as the decisive factor. Preparing a surface that assisted spin worked against a side whose strength is fast bowling, and the hosts fielded only one frontline spinner.
Pakistan’s spinners took 16 of the 20 wickets across the match. The visitors now face a scheduling gap before their next assignment, while the West Indies travel to Bangladesh.
